Creative and insightful review be damned. Today it's all about the swoon. I'm allowed to be a girly girl every so often and care more about the guy than the story. At least just once in a while? There was a story in here somewhere.

I think they went to visit the family and there was a Strigoi hunt. Unfortunately for this review, my mind went right to the highlight reel of Dimitri. Putting a six-foot-seven-inch man by the window in coach was just cruel. He hadn't complained the entire time, though. He never did. Morning light illuminated the sculpted features of his face and shone off his sleek brown hair. None of it could compare to the radiance within him.

From the moment we'd met, he'd always stood out as one of the most decisive, confident people I'd known. He was always in motion, never afraid to take on any threat, even if it meant risking his own life. Even now, if some bloodthirsty monster sprang out of the cockpit, Dimitri would calmly jump up and battle it while armed only with the safety card in his seat pocket. 'I haven't even tried,' he said, in a rare moment of arrogance. 'When I want to, I can be very persuasive.' His lips moved toward mine. 'I was hoping you'd say that.'

I loved reading about the little moments they had together and the pure chemistry that they have. 'I haven't even really tried,' he said, in a rare moment of arrogance. 'When I want to, I can be very persuasive.'

His lips moved toward mine. 'I was hoping you'd say that.' Yeva was still the rude yet loveable grandmother. I have to say she was my favourite character in the story. I know, I know.

People are sending me weird looks right now. But honestly? I may not love her more than Dimitri but there’s something about that old crazy bat-lady which makes my heart grow fonder. I've practically been waiting for this forever. So, you can imagine my disappointment when I started reading eagerly and turned the page after about thirty minutes and saw the acknowledgments. I really don't understand why this couldn't have been offered separately because I basically paid $13 for about 40 pages, but these two. Reading about them again made me realize how I missed them. The interaction between Yeva and Rose made me want to laugh out loud. However, Rose felt really flat to me as if she weren't her usual self.

The humor was there but something was missing. Also, there weren't enough Dimitri-Rose moments which I was expecting much of. Revisiting the Vampire Academy world is not a new thing these days, what with the Bloodlines series continuing the VA adventures; but revisiting in the mind of Rose Hathaway - AMAZING! I had been missing Rose's voice for so long. The brief glimpses we've had of her in Bloodlines were not enough to keep my need for more Rose from making me go insane. It was incredible the way I fell back into Rose's *THIS REVIEW IS FOR RICHELLE MEAD'S 'HOMECOMING' ONLY* Wow, that's all I can say right about now. Revisiting the Vampire Academy world is not a new thing these days, what with the Bloodlines series continuing the VA adventures; but revisiting in the mind of Rose Hathaway - AMAZING! I had been missing Rose's voice for so long. The brief glimpses we've had of her in Bloodlines were not enough to keep my need for more Rose from making me go insane.

It was incredible the way I fell back into Rose's head without effort at all. It was like greeting an old friend, there was no effort getting used to her style of narrating. It was just Rose. I loved seeing the interactions between Rose and Dimitri (*sigh* Dimitri) But even better was seeing them together again in Russia - minus the Strigoi-Dimitri issues. Hacking Exposed 7th Torrent there. Dimitri's home always brought up sad thoughts and images, but it was good to see it in a different light. What I love about the story is that it's not just about Rose and Dimitri and seeing Dimitri's family again.

When Rose is around, you can expect trouble and it usually comes in the form of a Strigoi. An old and dangerous Strigoi is praying on the humans. Rose and Dimitri take it upon themselves to set things right. You know what that mean, right? Dimitri and Rose going all badass - Guardian Style! There's snarky comments, Russian vodka and a fight scene at the end.

What more could you want? (a longer story.because you can never get enough Rose and Dimitri!) 5/5 stars. 4.5/5 stars Dimitri smiled and put his arm around me. 'Don't you believe in fate, Roza?' The novella doesn't give us much insight in anything concerning Rose's and Dimitri's life after the last VA book but at least we get to see them as a couple a little. Dimitri is still his reserved shelf but a little more playful with Rose, which was nice to see. In my opinion the spotlight in this story was stolen by Yeva who is the best granny ever. I loved how she could rile up Rose so easily(and I think she did it on purpose!). I don't know why but when I think of Yeva the evil witch from Snow White comes in mind. But she's not evil. Just annoying.

They are very much in love, and there was one special moment, when a possible wedding was mentioned. I just love these two. What's so great about Rose and Dimitri is that they are absolutely strong and independent as persons, but being together they make each other even better.

The fighting scenes was just like many others in the 'Vampire Academy' books, very intense and graphic. Of course, there's no need to say who won. It was entertaining, only I wish the story focused more on Rose and Dimitri' life and plans for the future.

I imagine even if they can be together now openly, it's not that easy with their jobs. Other than that, the novella was a very nice conclusion to this wonderful series.
