Hi Ive had the airbag light on since purchase a few weeks ago and purchased a autel code reader and a separate bmw srs reader Ive done the scan with the srs have gotten the following codes Table 10 2 Firing Circuit, Belt Tensioner, driver side 3 Firing Circuit, Belt Tensioner, passenger side 70 Seat Occupancy sensor 50 Supply voltage Are the issues something i can resolve simply myself and is the occupancy the passenger (common fault) or driver (there is in the guide 71 which is seat occupancy seat sensor II but that didnt show on my scan)?! Ps if any one local wants the use of the tools im happy to let them free, if they come to me.

Wait to see if the code immediately returns. If it doesn't, then turn the steering wheel. If the code appears after moving the wheel, it's most likely a slip ring. An instant code after start up might implicate either component in which case you'll need to pull the air bag & test it for resistance.

Given the mileage on the car, I would be replacing the slip ring anyway as they rotate all the time, so they certainly won't last forever.
